“Alcohol is unhealthy” – this slogan has probably been heard by everyone, repeated like sanctity by teachers and experts. Of course, when abused, it harms the body and causes many human tragedies.

However, we cannot demonize it 100% – drinking a glass of wine with dinner or a mug of beer with friends will have a lot of benefits.

However, there is a fine line between moderate consumption and abuse. When drinking a few glasses of whiskey becomes an evening ritual, you should know that your habits will affect your health sooner or later.

An excessive amount of alcohol drinks is toxic, damaging the liver, responsible for removing the accumulated poison. It also increases the risk of developing cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.

It lowers immunity, and when consumed during pregnancy, it increases the likelihood of fetal defects. Alcohol’s negative impact on training is not the only situation you have to consider.

Wine is a source of a powerful antioxidant – resveratrol; massive amounts are found in red wines. In France, where this drink is served with dinners, a lower incidence of cardiovascular diseases has been reported.

Resveratrol slows down the aging process, which is why some consider it the elixir of youth. Of course, a glass of wine with dinner is recommended, rather than getting drunk in bottles during evening meetings.

The Influence of Alcohol on Professional Training

While a recreational person exercising at the gym will not have any unpleasant consequences from drinking a dose of alcohol, a person who makes a living through sport can afford it much less often.

Professionals often compete in sports every 3-4 days. It is impossible to use stimulants and proper regeneration at a high frequency.

In addition to the competition, there are exercises, usually twice a day. You can’t imagine surviving two training units after the party tonight.

A tired body is much more prone to injury, and it is even possible to faint. In professional clubs, there are also penalties for using stimulants, so this may have an impact on your wallet.

Of course, an athlete is also only human and can sometimes afford a bit of madness, but the most important thing is to know when to do it.

This will most likely not be reflected in the results during the off-start period, and the coaches will not be blamed. However, preparations for the season and the duration of sports competitions should be characterized by an ironwork ethic [4].

Training with a hangover (the state after drinking too much alcohol) is not practical; it additionally puts a heavy burden on the already weakened body.

During such a session, the chance of sustaining an injury increases. Exercise helps to remove toxins, but you must remember that it should be of low intensity, e.g., walking – heavy exertion will only make you feel worse.

However, when you want the fastest results or a professional, let go of stimulants during the training period. Everything is for people but in the right amount and time.
